REEValue was delighted to attend the closing EENOVA event in Brussels 7th October 2026; focused on HORECA – Hotels, restaurants and Caterin there were interesting points from all speakers. Where EENOVA, EEHORCA, Eurochambres and REEValue presented a joint policy paper to the Commission based on lessons learned.
The key difference for me was the depth that EENOVA was able to get into with its clients, who made time to work with the project teams and implement changes. REEValue tried to engage as many SMEs as possible and we succeeded in raising awareness of funding and supports available to them, with some securing additional funding under EEOS and others securing energy awards.
The key lesson for all attending, was the idea of a long-term ‘caretaker’ resource to encourage engagement by SME’s with their existing audit reports and suppliers on a sustained basis; SMEs are busy places and can only act on climate when time is available. Reminding them of the opportunities on an ongoing basis with updates on financial supports is an action for auditors, suppliers and national energy authorities alike.
